March 07, 2022 – QUEENS, NY: Students and staff at York College CUNY were evacuated from campus Monday morning following an anonymous bomb threat that was made on the campus at 9420 Guy R Brewer Boulevard. According to police, the threat came in around 10:00 a.m. and the area was quickly overcome with a heavy police presence.
Classes were canceled for the day after the phoned in threat comprised the safety of students and staff at the Queens campus. School officials made the decision to close due to a police investigation into the incident and asked that everyone should evacuate the grounds.
The threat appeared to be unfounded however police requested an NYPD Emergency Response Unit to help with a sweep of the campus and aid in the investigation.
No injuries were reported following this incident and the investigation is ongoing.
