2 Injured After Vehicle Crash on Harlem River Drive

March 05, 2022 – MANHATTAN, NY: Two people were injured and hospitalized following a vehicle collision on Harlem River Drive early Saturday morning. Firefighters responded to 911 calls a vehicle collision just after 12:15 a.m. near exit 19 on the HRD. A male occupant pulled from the wreckage was said to be in critical condition, said police.

Upon arrival emergency units confirmed a vehicle collision with injuries occurred and people were trapped inside a vehicle that struck the divider wall. Firefighters requested an emergency service unit to aid with extraction procedures.

According to police, Two people were extricated from the mangled black sedan and transported by EMS to area hospitals. At least one occupant sustained life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle accident that occurred at Harlem River drive near exit 19 required all southbound lanes of the HRD to be close at 129th Street. Officers blocked all lanes of traffic for an investigation into the collision.
