Three-Alarm Fire Leaves One Dead in Brooklyn

February 27, 2022 – Brooklyn, NY: An elderly woman was killed after a fire broke out Saturday evening in a Brooklyn four story residential building. FDNY rescue crews and police from the 79th precinct responded to 911 calls of a 3-alarm fire at 367 Tompkins Avenue.

According to police, first responding emergency crews observed fire throughout the entire structure and subsequently located a unresponsive 74-year-old woman on the third floor of the building. EMS pronounced the elderly woman dead at the scene.

The FDNY Fire Marshal has yet to determine the official cause of the fire. There are no other civilian injuries reported at this time. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
