February 22 2022 – KYIV, Ukraine: Smoke was seen rising from the Russian Embassy in Kyiv Ukraine on Tuesday evening after officials in Moscow ordered diplomats to evacuate the country. Staff members were seen carrying large boxes into the building before the smoke started to rise.
President Putin, yesterday, recognized the independence of 2 Moscow-backed separatist regions in Eastern Ukraine. Putin is said to recognize the separatist-claimed areas as independent and not just the areas currently held by separatist forces.
Tensions have been building in Ukraine for weeks as Russians troops have essentially encircled the former Soviet nation. President Biden ordered further sanctions on Russia today, including oligarchs and their families.
According to Ukrainian media reports, President Zelensky has signed a decree ordering the mobilization of reservists into action.
