A man was injured in transit during a slashing incident Saturday evening following an altercation that allegedly led to the assault. According to police the incident occurred just before 9:30 p.m., after a train rider confronted two individuals, a male and female, about them smoking an unknown substance in the subway car.
NYPD officers from the 26th Precinct responded to multiple 911 calls of a person stabbed on a southbound 1 train. Upon arrival at the 116th st-Columbia University Station, officers located a man with injuries to the foreman consistent with a knife wound.





The victim was removed and transported by EMS to St. Lukes Hospital where the individual is listed in stable condition, police said.
There are no arrests at this time, the two suspects wanted for questioning fled from the scene. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
