A 31-year-old man was stabbed in an unprovoked attack sunday evening while riding the downtown 6 train, police said. NYPD officers from the 5th precinct responded to a report of a male stabbed on a southbound 6 train at the Canal Street Station.
When first responding police officers arrived, they located an injured male with stab wounds to the arm and back.





We spoke with train rider Louis at the Canal Street Station.
“You can’t trust nobody these days.”

“I grew up taking the subway. Everywhere I go was always public transportation, bus or subway, so I’m always on high alert. Even like the late hours, anytime I take the subway, you have to be open. keep your eyes open 24/7 Anything is possible.
Robberies can happen stabbings, shootings, you’d be surprised. I’ve been in the city all my life and I’m always on high alert whenever I travel either with friends or by myself, you can’t trust nobody these days.”
According to police, the 31-year-old male was transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
