3-Alarm Blaze in Westchester County Leaves 1 Dead

Pelham Fire department responded to multiple 911 calls of a fire at 17 Fifth Avenue just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening in the suburban town of Pelham, in Westchester County.

Upon arrival, fire crews observed heavy flames piercing out of the windows, a second alarm was then transmitted and mutual aid from several departments would answer the call for assistance.

The fire chief declared a third alarm as the final alarm for the blaze. One fatality was reported, cause and origin team are working to determine the official cause of death.

Fire investigators are also working to determine the official cause of fire. Red Cross arrived to help with around 100 people displaced due to the fire and extreme weather conditions.
