Subway Rider HIT WITH PIPE AND ROBBED while Sleeping on NYC Train

A sleeping 38-year-old train rider was struck with a steel pipe and robbed Sunday evening, after being approached by 3 suspects on a Manhattan northbound A train, police said.

According to NYPD officials, three suspects, approached the victim and at least one hit the 38-year-old man with a pipe just before robbing the rider of his belongings. The three alleged suspects then fled up to the street at Fort Washington Avenue & W181 Street. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the Hudson Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.

The injured victim also made his way off the train, and was transported by EMS to Harlem Hospital for a head injury. The 38-year-old man was last listed in stable condition, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
