Arson is suspected in a Bronx apartment fire that left at least one person injured. The incident at 1023 Faile Street occurred around 11pm with a 911 call of people fighting in a possible domestic dispute, police said. An additional 911 caller reported a man was setting fire to the apartment building. FDNY responded and confirmed a fire on the first floor of the building.
First responding officers located a 23-year-old male inside of the building who sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries during the incident. The male victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln to be rated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters conducted a search of the apartment building and no other injuries were reported, fire officials said.






According to the NYPD, officers requested additional units to aid in canvassing for the suspect, described as an African American male, around 6’5 in height with a light complexion that was also at the scene, police said.
