January 29, 2022 – MANHATTAN, New York: Despite today’s freezing temperatures, hundreds of college students and residents converged onto Washington Square Park to participate in a massive snowball fight in the middle of a blizzard.
Self described as New York City’s one minute street show, “SideTalkNYC” invited the masses to a community snowball fight in the park via their Instagram platform.
The freezing temperatures and heavy winds were not enough to deter the brave group of hundreds from enjoying the snow in such a unique way.
Overnight winter storm Kenan blanketed the city in 5 to 7 inches snow overnight. By Saturday morning temperatures were in the low digits. A Winter Storm Warning was in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday evening and according to local weather reports, another 8 to 12 inches of snow is still expected.
