Construction Worker Struck By Vehicle Near Central Park, Driver Arrested

January 26, 2022 – Manhattan, NY: Police responded to 180 Central Park west regarding a 911 call about a construction worker hit by a vehicle. First responding officers observed a male construction worker with injuries lying on the roadway.

According to police, the driver of a black pickup truck who struck a construction worker overnight remained at the scene and was subsequently arrested. The collision occurred just outside of the American Museum of Natural History, located across the street from Central Park.

EMS responded and evaluated the victim who was then transported to a nearby hospital with injuries to his arm.

The driver was arrested under suspicion of DUI and the victim was last known to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries to his arm, police said.
