January 20, 2022 Staten Island, New York – An NYPD Lieutenant officer and a suspect were shot in Staten, reportedly during a search warrant early Thursday morning. The shooting incident occurred around 6 a.m., the officer was rushed to a nearby hospital and is listed in stable condition, said police.






Officials say officers were executing a search warrant at Rockne Street and Villa Nova Street, in Heartland Village neighborhood of Staten Island, when a suspect allegedly opened fire through a door, striking an NYPD lieutenant, according to the NYPost.

NYPD Officials said officers shot back striking the suspect at least once. The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time. A total of four individuals were taken into police custody.
The investigation into the shooting incident in Staten Island is ongoing.
Just two days ago, on January 18th 2022, An NYPD police officer was shot in the leg around 9:30pm on Tuesday night in the Belmont section of the Bronx. A suspect was also reported to have been shot. The officer was taken to St. Barnabas hospital, the suspect to Jacobi.
