Cop and Suspect Shot in The Bronx

January 18 2022 – BRONX, New York:
An NYPD police officer was shot in the leg around 9:30pm on Tuesday night in the Belmont section of the Bronx.


Police advised a 16-year-old suspect male suspect has been charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal use of a firearm. The suspect allegedly shot himself in the groin during a struggle and was transported to Jacobi Hospital


Officers requested additional units shortly after the shooting for crowd control, and were reported to have been receiving airmail. Airmail is defined as objects thrown.


The incident occured at Lorillard Place near 3rd Avenue.
