Man, 35, Fatally Shot in his Car, Crashes on Bronx Street

Sunday evening, NYPD officers responded to a shooting in the Bronx where an individual suffered a severe gunshot wound to the chest while inside his vehicle.

The shooting occurred at Walton Avenue & 164th Street in the Bronx. First responding officers from the 44th Precinct located a 35-yr-old male sitting inside his crashed car with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was rushed to an area hospital but did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said.

According to police officials, the crashed vehicle was observed to have several bullet holes on the drivers side and several shell casings were found on the block prior to the crash.

Bronx police detectives are investigating the fatal shooting.
