January 6th Vigil Interrupted by Counter-protesters in NYC

January 6 2022 – MANHATTAN, New York: A planned vigil for January 6th detainees was interrupted by counter protesters from the local antifascist group.

Several Proud Boys were present at the vigil and at one point punches were thrown as the group held candles and sang the national anthem.

NYPD Officers quickly separated the groups who continued to attempt to fight each other some more before eventually dispersing. No Arrests were made.

The event was scheduled for 6pm and ended around 7- 7:15pm outside of St. Patrick’s Cathedral on 5th Avenue.
