Brooklyn Pair Hospitalized In Critical Condition After Crashing into a Roll-Off Truck

January 04, 2022 Brooklyn, NY – Early Tuesday morning just before 1:00 a.m., police and emergency crews responded to a crash that occurred at Division Pl and Morgan Avenue between a car and Roll-Off Truck.

According to officials, responding officers from the 94th precinct located two critically injured individuals and emergency rescue workers used hydraulic rescue tools for extrication.

We spoke with Elvis the operator of the Roll-Off truck.

“Basically I was coming down Morgan, I was gonna make the right turn right here on division. And I see one car flying on my right hand side so I decided to keep going straight. He swerved around me and then the car behind them hit me in the back.” Said Elvis the operator of the Roll-Off Truck

Elvis went on to mention his suspicion of the wrecked vehicle’s involvement in possibly racing another car due to the alleged high speeds the wrecked vehicle was traveling in.

“Basically, they were racing, they crashed, the guys jumped out and jumped in the other car and left. They fled the scene.”

The driver of the Roll-Off truck was not injured in the crash but did mention to us that he was in mild shock, “I’m a little shaken up. Thank God I was in the truck. If I was in a car, I would have been dead.”

“90 to 100, I mean it was almost a blur when I saw them. I couldn’t even distinguish the car.” said Elvis of the manner in which the crashed vehicle was traveling leading up the wreck.

One of the critically injured men was taken to Bellevue Hosptial and the other was transported to Elmhurst Hospital by EMS.

The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
