Police Officer Released from Hospital after getting Grazed By Bullet Outside his Precinct

January 02 2022 – MANHATTAN, New York: An officer was released from the hospital today after being grazed by a bullet while sleeping in his car between shifts on New Years Day.


The officer was greeted by the new mayor of New York City, Eric Adams and was joined by his family.


According to NYPD officials, the off-duty police officer was grazed in the head after gunfire struck his car while he was resting in his personal vehicle at 120 E119th street, near the precinct’s parking lot, injuring the officer sleeping inside.

The off-duty officer decided to rest in his personal vehicle at NYPD’s 25th Precinct in Harlem after an 8 hour shift working a NYE event and before starting his next shift at 7 a.m., said police.
