Suspect Sought In Bronx Fatal Hit-and-Run

December 26th, 2021 – An unidentified 52-year-old male died after exiting his 2013 Ford Ranger and being struck on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx Sunday evening.

According to NYPD, just after 11:00 p.m. 911 callers alerted police to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic incident near the overpass of the Bronx River Parkway.

NYPD officers from the 43rd precinct responded to the location and found an unresponsive person lying on the expressway.

Following a preliminary investigation police determined the 52-year-old male victim stepped out of his vehicle after pulling over to the side of the road and was struck by an unknown vehicle in the hit-and-run, said police.

Detectives are searching for the driver who fled the crash and did not stop to render aid.

The 52-year-old man struck in the hit-&-run was pronounced dead at the scene, said police officials. NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was requested to assist in the investigation.

There are currently no arrests in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
