Union Members Protest Against Amazon In Times Square

December 22, 2021 – Members of the Amazon Labor Union held a rally in Times Square against alleged workplace abuse committed by the Amazon company in New York State and across the country.

The demonstration at the Red Steps in Times Square was led by former Amazon employee Christian Smalls. In November of last year, Smalls filed a class-action lawsuit against Amazon for its alleged failure to adequately protect its workers during the pandemic.

Smalls was subsequently fired after protesting lack of PPE at Amazon’s Staten Island warehouse locations.

On Wednesday evening ALU members and Amazon workers gathered in Times Square to share testimonials along with announcing a petition to re-file for a union election with the National Labor Relations Board.
