December 23, 2021 Bronx, New York – Black Opportunities and BLM Greater New York gathered on Thursday afternoon to distribute hundreds of toys and over $8,000 dollars in food vouchers to Bronx community members.
The annual family event was held at 161 Street, Walton Avenue near the Malcolm Ex mural in the Bronx.
Children arriving at the event were greeted by an entire U-haul truck full of toys and other gifts.
Toys were stacked by the hundreds on tables that lined the sidewalk so children could pick out what they wanted for Christmas.
Hundreds of Bronx community members could be seen waiting in line that wrapped around the block for their holiday gifts. Many were gifted a $25 dollar food voucher along with toys.
