Multiple CityMDs Closed Across Manhattan Amid Omicron Surge

December 22, 2021 – Following the recent surge of Covid cases due to the fast spreading Omicron strain, CityMD has closed multiple locations around New York City citing staff shortages.

With just two days before families across the country prepare to gather with their loved ones for holiday celebrations, in NYC many are attempting to get tested for Covid.

New Yorkers who relied on the services provided by CityMD have grown frustrated with the process of getting tested. Some waited for hours only to be turned away due to facility inefficiency.

While others were seen standing in line for hours at mobile testing sites in hopes a medical crew would even show up to the listed site location.

Other CityMD locations that were “open” had signs on their doors indicating they had met “max capacity for patients” for the day.

Locations shown in this segment are:
Manhattan

CityMD East 50th
CityMD West 125th
CityMD West 39th
CityMD East 14th

On Wednesday city officials announced more mobile testing sites would be available around the city and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer requested at least 100 additional mobile test sites from FEMA.
