Queens Fatal Accident On Jackie Robinson Parkway

December 17, 2021 – On Friday just before midnight police from the 102nd precinct responded to a 911 callers report of a single car accident on the westbound Jackie Robinson Parkway.

According to police, the male operator of a sedan failed to properly navigate the roadway and struck a tree between Forest Park Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue.

Arriving officers located the inured 26-year-old male driver still inside his vehicle. The driver was removed by EMS and rushed to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, said police.

We spoke with a Forrest Hills neighborhood resident and witness of the incident, Raktim Ghosh who said,

“I’ve been living here for a few years and there’s always accidents on the Jackie Robinson but I’ve never seen anything quite like this you know, I’ve seen fender benders and you know, car smoking on the side running off the tracks but never seen a car fully shredded up and totaled like that.”

No other injuries were reported in this incident and the NYPD’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating.
