Teenage Girl In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle Outside Bronx High School

December 15, 2021 – On Wednesday evening a young female was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle near Bronx High School.

The incident occurred in the Edenwald neighborhood of the Bronx around 6 p.m., the 14-year-old girl was leaving Cardinal Spellman High School when she was struck on the corner of Needham and Edson Avenue.

EMS transported the teen to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in critical but stable condition, said police.

According NYPD officials, the driver who struck the 14-year-old female remained on the scene and was later taken into police custody.

His vehicle was vouchered as evidenced and taken to the precinct for further investigation.

The NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was also requested and confirmed for the traffic accident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
