Elderly Man Dead Following Bronx Apartment Fire

December 15, 2021 – On Wednesday afternoon firefighters battled an intense fire at the Butler Houses in the Claremont Village neighborhood of the Bronx.

FDNY officials say A 66-year-old man died after being injured in the blaze that broke out just after 1:30 p.m. in the NYCHA apartment complex.

The elderly man was rushed by EMS to a nearby hospital, where he was later died from injuries sustained in the fire, officials said.

The cause of the fire and matter of death of the 66-year-old man are still under investigation.

No other injuries were reported.
