December 08, 2021 – John Lennon was murdered by crazed gunman Mark David Chapman in the the archway of the Dakota Apartment Building 41 years ago today in New York City.
Throughout the day people gathered at Strawberry Fields memorial site in Central Park to mourn the slain musician. Some fans laid roses and cigarettes around the Imagine Mosaic.
Others could be seen playing guitars and while the crowds to turns singing their respects to the legendary musician.
Chapman was sentenced to 20-years-to-life and still remains behind bars today, in Wende Correctional Facility, in Erie County, New York.
