40-year-old Man Dies In Car Crash With MTA Bus In Staten Island

December 04, 2021 – A 40-year-old man died Saturday evening around 10 p.m., after his car collided with an MTA bus in Staten Island, New York City.

According to police, the 40-year-old male was driving a Subaru sedan going westbound on Ebbitts Avenue, and struck an MTA bus in front of 82 Ebbitts Street, in Staten Island.

When officers arrived on the scene, police found the 40-year-old male driver of the Subaru, unconscious and unresponsive. The driver was then rushed by EMS to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he was pronounced dead, police say.

Officials stated, the operator of the bus remained at the scene of the accident and was not injured in the collision. No passengers were on board the MTA vehicle at the time of the incident.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
