NEW YORK: Stolen Car Suspect Drives Over NYPD Officers Foot, At Least One Shot Fired By Police

December 01, 2021 – Early Wednesday morning around 3:30 a.m., one officer was injured while attempting to make a traffic stop with his partner on a suspected stolen vehicle.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Cozine avenues in East New York, Brooklyn, police said.

According to the NYPD, the driver of the suspected stolen vehicle took off during the stop and drove over an officers foot during the attempt to evade police.

The other officer at the scene fired their service weapon at the suspects fleeing vehicle but missed the car and did not strike anyone.

The suspects vehicle was subsequently found on 95th Avenue and 85th Street in the Ozone Park neighborhood of Queens, NY.

Following the vehicle being found, a 30-year-old male suspect was also located and arrested a short time later.

No charges have been filed yet and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
