MANHATTAN: Car Driver Hits And Kills Biker, Flees, Abandons Vehicle, Returns and Gets Arrested.

November 09, 2021 East Harlem, New York Just before 11:00 a.m. this morning, officers from the 23rd precinct requested the NYPD Collision Investigation Squad (NYPD CIS) to an incident reported at 302 E112 St.

Detectives investigating hit-and-run

According to police, the collision occurred around 9:30 a.m., involving a bike and motor vehicle. A 46-year-old male bike rider with life threatening injuries was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital where the hit and run victim was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspects vehicle reportedly fled the scene before being abandoned about a block away. The perpetrator later returned to the abandoned vehicle and was arrested, police said.
