Man shot during robbery attempt at Union Square station

October 25 2021 Manhattan, New York – A man was shot in a robbery attempt aboard a train at the Union Square subway station in the afternoon, police say.



Incident happened on the uptown N train, right before 5 p.m.

The suspect told the 42-year-old victim to give up his cell phone, shooting him in the left leg when he refused, officials stated.

Victim was reportedly on his phone on the train, when the suspect approached him.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injury to his leg and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Police described the suspect as 5’9, wearing a black leather jacket, black pants and carrying a duffle bag and a black revolver.
