3-year-old Child and Two Adults Pinned in a Car Following a Crash, Mother Dies

Sunday, October 17, 2021 at approximately 11pm , police responded to a 911 call of a car crash at Park Lane South and Mayfield Road.

Three victims were found pinned inside of a 1997 Toyota Corolla: A 22-year-old female, a 21-year-old male and a 3-year-old male in a 2 car collision.

FDNY rescued the three people from the car and EMS transported the two males to Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where there are both listed in stable condition.

EMS transported the 22-year-old female to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation determined that the 21-year-old male was operating the Toyota Corolla, with the 22-year-old adult female and 3-year-old male as rear passengers and was traveling westbound on Park Lane South when the vehicle collided head-on with a 2014 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Park Lane South, according to police.

The 44-year-old male driver of the Toyota Camry remained on the scene and was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, officials said.

Police say that a 21-year-old male was taken into custody. The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.
