Police Open Fire at BMW Trying to Flee on a Sidewalk

October 11 2021 Manhattan, New York – Undercover police sitting in unmarked police cars around 1:20 a.m. near Pergola restaurant in Gramercy on West 28th and 5th Avenue, say they saw a BMW, who they believed to possibly be connected to a recent robbery pattern, according to officials.

Cops boxed in the BMW, Suspect driver jumped the curb attempting to flee and sped toward a crowd of people, according to officials.

Police say they opened fire on the car in an attempt to stop it before it could hit any pedestrians, police said. Police say nobody was hit by the gun fire.

One suspect was apprehended.

Police say that suspect may be connected to a multitude of high-end robberies at clubs and restaurants citywide. According to Pix11 reporter Anthony DiLorenzo: “the suspects didn’t commit any crime In front of police. Also cops are uniformed in unmarked car.”
