Citi Bike Rider Struck and Killed in Manhattan, Driver Arrested

NYPD survey a damaged Citi Bike

October 7, 2021 – Police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision on the Henry Hudson Parkway at West 104 Street at approximately 0008 hours.

When police arrived on scene an unidentified adult male was found with with trauma to the body from being struck by a vehicle. EMS transported the male to Saint Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

According to police, the unidentified male was riding a CitiBike and traveling southbound on Henry Hudson Parkway when he was struck by a Lexus that was also traveling southbound.

The driver of the Lexus, a 73-year-old male remained at the scene but was taken into custody for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

The bikers identity is unknown pending an investigation by the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad.
