On October 2, 2021 Thousands gathered at Foley Square in lower Manhattan, NY to protest against new restrictive abortion laws in Texas. People would march from Foley Square to Washington Square Park. Many could be heard chanting “Not the church, not the state, women must decide their fate.” And “Keep your rosary’s off my ovaries.”

Once at Washington Square Park the group faced some backlash from an Anti-Mandate protestor that told the group he would have their back if they had his.
We spoke with an volunteer organizer of the march that said “We’re demanding reproductive justice and abortion access. We’re standing in solidarity with Texas because of the SB8 Bill”
