Husband in Custody after shooting at police in Queens Hostage situation

September 14 2021 – QUEENS, New York:
Alleged husband of an NYPD officer has been arrested, after he reportedly held his wife hostage at their home and then fired at responding officers, according to police.

Police exchanged gunfire with the husband of an NYPD cop in Wakefield Queens on Tuesday morning.

The man fired on responding officers and they fired back wounding him, police says.


At one point the officer called 911 and escaped from the house through an open window, the gunman was threatening his wife saying that she’d cheated on him, according to NYPOST. The officer said to 911, “he’ll shoot.”

Suspect is now in custody.
