September 11th – 20th Anniversary of the Attacks (UPDATED LIVE)

People have gathered across the nation to commemorate the lives of those lost in 9/11 attacks.

Attacks hit New York, Washington and Pennsylvania that day on September 11th 2001. President Biden and first lady Jill Biden are scheduled to visit all three sites.

In New York City, at 8:46 a.m. New York City Police Officers throughout the five boroughs who were not engaged in responding to calls for service, formed in front of their respective commands, at which time the names of the 23 members of the NYPD who were killed in the line of duty on September 11, 2001 were read.

At 9:03 AM, United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the southern façade of the World Trade Center’s South Tower.
