NYPD: 24-Year-Old Man Shot, Killed After Opening Fire On Off-Duty Officers, father arrested

August 29 2021 Bronx, New York – car police said was a dispute between father and son, turned deadly early Sunday morning in the Bronx.

24-year-old gunman was killed in a shootout with two off-duty NYPD officers.

According to NYPD, two officers who just ended their shift and were walking to their car, heard gunfire around 4:15 a.m.

Police said the 24-year-old and his 45-year-old father were outside a grocery store on the corner of Valentine Avenue and E183rd street, when a dispute broke out.

The fight reportedly turned physical and 24-year-old fired multiple shots, according to police.

The off-duty officers ran to the scene and “engaged” the shooter, police said at press conference.

“The 24-year-old man fired several times at the officers. The officers returned fire, which struck the 24-year-old man in the torso,”

Family of the slain man gives a different account of events. Wife of 24-Year-Old Mikey Rosado who was killed by the police, says he was not armed.
