Times Square Evacuated After Man Throws Cookie Jar at Crowd

August 19 2021 – MANHATTAN, New York:
A suspicious package shut down Times Square on Thursday afternoon. Reports say a police K9 unit had a “hit” on an unattended package.

This comes on the same day an area near the US Capitol was evacuated for an “active bomb threat.” Around 1:15pm police cleared the package and reopened Times Square. People were seen flooding into the crossroads as police took down barricades.

First shot shows police holding the alleged suspicious package.

Red cookie tin (seen in the video) – today’s suspicious package that caused Times Square evacuation, was reportedly thrown by a man on a bicycle into the crowd on the red steps.
