Man Found Stabbed to Death in Penthouse that Exploded in Queens

August 10 2021 Queens, New York – A man found stabbed to death in a building where a penthouse exploded, taking off the roof, Tuesday morning in Queens.


NYPD said that the fire may have been set to cover up a murder. Law enforcement sources also told multiple news organizations that a 26-year-old male, Anesti Bulgaretsi, was found dead in the penthouse with multiple stab wounds.

A four-alarm fire followed an explosion in a penthouse in Elmhurst, Queens, Tuesday morning.

When asked about who lives in the penthouse neighbor said it’s two guys “they are cool guys, have been here for a while now, young guys, they work hard”.

The incident began at about 10:25 a.m., when
firefighters were alerted to a report of fire and the sound of an explosion on the 6th floor penthouse apartment at building on 73-01 41st Ave.

The explosion caused an unstable wall and multiple buildings around were evacuated.

The fire chief stated that multiple firefighters sustained minor injuries and one civilian was confirmed dead.

More than 140 firefighters have responded to this incident.

Damage to the penthouse structure and the top floor has caused a collapse and “very unstable situation”, according to chief.

Cause of explosion is not yet known.
