Man dies after crawling under a moving truck: NYPD

On Monday July 26, 2021, at approximately 9:51am, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in near 126 Street and 34 Avenue, in Queens.

The responding officers say they encountered an unconscious and unresponsive adult male with severe body trauma.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced the individual dead, according to police.

The preliminary investigation determined that the male pedestrian did cross mid-block from the east sidewalk and did crawl underneath the moving 2020 Peterbuilt tractor trailer that was traveling northbound on 126 Street and was subsequently run over by the trailers rear tires, says NYPD.

The 46-year-old male operator of the truck was unaware of the incident and was subsequently stopped by witnesses a short distance from the SCENE, according to police.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the New York City Police Department’s Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.
