Speeding Driver Kills Mother and her 10-year-old Daughter in car crash in Queens

July 24 2021, Queens, New York – Mother and her 12 year old daughter killed in a car crash in Queens, Sunday evening.

Around 8:45pm , police say they responded to a serious car crash on the intersection of Rockaway Boulevard and Guy R Brewer Boulevard.

Officers found unresponsive people inside a 2019 Chevy Cruze; a 31-year-old mother and her 10-year-old daughter, both with severe trauma to the body, according to officials.

In addition, officers also four people inside a 2018 Nissan Altima; a 42-year-old male driver, a 38-year-old female front passenger, a 12-year-old male and a 16-year-old female rear passengers, according to NYPD.

EMS responded to the scene and transported mother and daughter to Jamaica Hospital where they were both pronounced dead.

The 42-year-old male is currently in serious condition and the 38-year-old female is in critical condition, said NYPD

The 12-year-old male and a 16-year-old female passengers were transported by EMS to Long Island Jewish Cohen Children’s Medical Center, both in serious but stable condition, according to officials.

Police say that preliminary investigation revealed that the 42-year-old male was driving at a high speed westbound on Rockaway Boulevard when he crashed into 2020 Chevy Cruze, which was driving eastbound on Rockaway Boulevard making a left turn onto Guy R Brewer Boulevard.

The 42-year-old male driver of the 2018 Nissan Altima was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
