Britney Spears was granted a request to hire her own attorney on Wednesday, a development that could mark a major shift in how her 13-year conservatorship case has been handled.
Earlier this afternoon a small crowd gathered in Washington Square Park to say Free Britney and to protest the conservatorships of her and other celebrities.
The crowd held signs, some even getting emotional and crying as they spoke about Britney Spears. “She gave me the courage to be the little gay boy that I was.”
“As a human being its just so wrong to see someone suffering like this,” said another protester who showed off his drawings of the pop star.
After chanting and speaking about the problems with conservatorship, they marched around the park with their signs.
