9-Year-Old Boy Killed in Far Rockaway Fire

July 11 2021 Queens, New York – A 9-year-old boy was killed in a fire that burned through a Queens home, early Sunday morning.



Fire started around 6:30 am. inside the multi-family home at 69-37 Hillmeyer Avenue in Far Rockaway, police say.

9-year-old victim was taken to St. John’s Hospital in critical condition, and pronounced dead around 8:45 a.m., according to police.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed at this time.

According to NY Post, Fire officials found at least 20 votive candles in the home, along with crates of live animals, life-sized dolls and other items.
