Six Months Since Capitol Stormed in Washington DC, Over 500 Arrested

Today marks six months since the Capitol Seige.

January 6 2021 Washington DC – Crowds who came for #stopthesteal rally to hear the speech by President Donald J Trump, marched to the Capitol. There was a Save America event scheduled at the Capitol Building at 1pm that day.

As massive crowds continued to arrive at the steps of the Capitol Building in Washington DC, multiple entrances into the building were breached as the House and Senate was in session.

As crowds arrived to the Capitol, they were met by a very low Police presence and it took a while before the reinforcements were seen.

Thousands surrounded the building, on the east front of the Capitol where windows were broken, barricades thrown aside and doors were breached. As the crowds continued going into the Capitol, doors of which were wide open at that point, police repeatedly used pepper spray, tear gas and tactical smoke.

As the crowds in the Rotunda were pepper sprayed and gassed, those affected would leave the building and they would be immediately replaced with a new crowd.

Group of rioters destroyed what they say was CNN equipment, they surrounded the group with cameras and smashed up their equipment, chanting “Fuck CNN”

The equipment destroyed was AP / Associated Press, not CNN as some people in the crowd claimed.

Washington DC police said that two pipe bombs and a cooler of molotov cocktails was found in the area. No suspect has been identified in the pipe bomb incident to this day.

Mayor imposed a citywide curfew from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday, Bowser said only essential personnel was be allowed outside in Washington DC.

Ashli Babbitt was shot inside of the Capitol after appearing to jump up at the window where two armed officers had guns drawn. She was declared dead.

Capitol Police officer was reported to have died the next day, following injuries sustained during the fight on the Capitol Grounds on January 6th. That day It was reported that least 56 more cops were hurt or injured that day and another 4 people died – 1 woman who was shot dead and 3 others who died from “medical emergency”.

The clashes on the ground of the Capitol continued through out the afternoon, until the crowd was finally dispersed by around 8pm.

500 people have been arrested so far, and the arrests continue.

An organization called CAPP (Citizens Against Political Prosecution) held a rally in June of 2021 in Washington DC and New York City. They are speaking out about what they say is “inhumane treatment” of the January 6th prisoners.
