On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 4:10am, police say they responded to a 911 call of two males shot in front of 866 East 172 Street, within in the confines of the 42 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers say they observed two individuals with gunshot wounds: a 22-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and arm, and a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
EMS also responded to the location and transported both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where the 22-year-old male was pronounced deceased.
The 27-year-old male is currently listed in stable condition, police say. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
