June 18 2021 Brooklyn , New York – At 49 Rogers Avenue, around 10am this morning, an accident left two are dead, male and a female who were riding a moped.
A 25-year-old female sustained a trauma to her head and a 36-year-old male had trauma to his body. EMS pronounced the female dead at the scene and transported the 36-year-old male to Interfaith Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries, according to officials.
Police say that the Preliminary investigation revealed that the 36-year-old male was operating a 2018 Honda Grom Motorcycle and the female was his passenger, they were traveling northbound on Rogers Avenue in the far left lane and in an attempt to overtake a 2007 Mack truck the operator lost control after passing the truck where he and the passenger fell to the roadway and were struck by the truck.
The 58-year-old male operator of the Mack truck remained at the scene and there are no arrests at this time and NYPD is investigating.
