10 Civilians and 2 Police Officers Hurt after Pepper Spray Incident in Staten Island

June 9 2021 – STATEN ISLAND, New York: 12 people were injured including 2 police officers after a man reportedly sprayed an substantial amount of pepper spray throughout a building in Staten Island.


The incident occurred at 220 Osgood Avenue in the Park Hill section of Staten Island.
Kevin Charles, who lives on the first floor of the building, says he was immediately evacuated from the building after police and firefighters were unsure if there was a fire in the building.
Deputy Chief James Boylan said an All Hands response was declared for a pepper spray deployment of the fifth floor of the building. Initial reports came in shortly before 7pm.
