June 7 2021 Brooklyn, New York – officials say a retired police officer was killed in a shooting in Kensington part of Brooklyn on Monday night. One other person was also injured.
The retired officer and the second victim, a retired corrections officer, went up to help an 86-year-old man, when a verbal dispute broke out with a 33-year-old male. Eventually a gun, was shot, shooting two people, police said.
One suspect is in custody, officials now are clarifying that shots were a “friendly fire” where corrections officer shot at a drunk man, and hit his friend in the chest and the drunken man in the arm.
