70-year-old is dead after Hit & Run incident in Brooklyn

May 31st, 2021 – Brooklyn, NY – At approximately 11:18 p.m. in the confines of the 84th Precinct police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck at 510 Atlantic Avenue.

Upon arrival police say found a person critically injured at the scene. The victim was transported to Brooklyn Hospital in critical condition.

Later police confirmed that the victim was a 70-year-old male who passed away from his injuries.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined the male was attempting to cross Atlantic Avenue, in the vicinity of the location, between 3rd Avenue and Nevins Street, when he was struck by a dark colored sedan that was traveling east bound at the location, said officials.

Upon striking the pedestrian, the vehicle driver fled the location, continuing to travel east along Atlantic Avenue,said cops.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
