Pedestrian struck by car on Bronx River Parkway in the Bronx

On Sunday, May 30th, 2021 at around 4a.m. , police say they responded to a 911 call of a car accident involving a pedestrian in southbound lane of the Bronx River Parkway in the vicinity of exit #3.

Police observed a male lying on the roadway with severe trauma about the body, EMS also responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to officials.

Further investigation by the NYPD determined that the pedestrian was walking eastbound (counter flow) in the southbound lane of the Bronx River Parkway when he was struck by a 2019, Nissan sedan, operated by a 25-year-old male driver, said police.

The vehicle driver remained at the scene. there are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
