1 YEAR LATER – PROTESTS and Riots Erupt in NYC For George Floyd in 2020

1 YEAR LATER – May 28th 2020 – Protests Erupt in NYC over George Floyd’s Death at the hands of Minneapolis police.

Water bottles thrown at police, protesters thrown to the ground, some arrested. Barricades thrown to slow down police and traffic disrupted, all this was seen in Manhattan on May 28th of 2020, as protests erupt in the shadow of the riots following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of Derek Chauvin, in Minneapolis.

May 29th 2020 – George Floyd uprising in Brooklyn New York – Barclay’s Center.



On May 29 2020, following unrest in Minneapolis and St. Paul, along with protest actions in other cities across the country, thousands of demonstrators gathered at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn to protest George Floyd’s death at the hands of Derek Chauvin.
After about 90 minutes of peaceful protest, bottles and signs began to be thrown at the police who had set up barricades in front of the doors to the arena.
After taking several hits, riot police were called in and SRG bike units began mass pepper spraying the crowd. Multiple people were thrown down, some beat and arrested.

Later that night NYPD precinct was breached and the first cop car was set on fire.

May 30th 2020 – George Floyd uprising took over Manhattan streets.

Multiple cop cars burned that day in Union Square.
